SALT LAKE CITY — Oct. 27, 2008 — Utah Scientific today announced it has acquired Sandar, an important European manufacturer and distributor of routing switchers whose marketing reach in Northern and Eastern Europe and in Asia neatly complements Utah’s historical strength in the Americas. Sandar, like Utah Scientific, has been a renowned name in the broadcast industry for 30 years, and its products are widely used by many of the top broadcasters and telecom operators in Europe and Asia. The new company will be known as Utah Sandar (Utah Sandar AS – Thorøyaveien 11 – N-3209 Sandefjord –Tel.: +47 3352 2700 Fax: +47 3352 2701).

Sandar has launched a compact 8x8 3G-SDI router (which supports all data rates from 143 Mbps to 3Gbps single link HD), as response to a great number of requests for a smaller 3G router than our 16x16 3G-SDI router launched previously. The new product is called SA1100 HD3G 8x8 and is equipped with Ethernet as well as RS232 control interfaces, and dual (redundant) power inlets.

Sandar has recently also developed a new Transformer Balanced 16x16 AES/EBU cross point card for the popular SA1000AA frame. This card comes in addition to the previously developed 16x16 Balanced Analogue Audio card, and enables the SA1000AA frame to be delivered as 8x8 Mono, 8x8 Stereo, 8x8 Quadro, 16x16 Mono, 16x16 Stereo, 16x16 AES/EBU, Dual 16x16 AES/EBU, og a variety of combinations of analogue and digital audio.

The new version has a Control Panel integrated in the front cover, which can be used to control this router as well as several other Sandar routers connected in the system. The new product is called SA1100 HD3G 16x16CP and is equipped with Ethernet as well as RS232 control interfaces, and dual (redundant ) power inlets.
